I made several scenes visible. Why do I only see the front one? For multiple scenes to be visibile, you need to set up the Video Out objects of each scene except the very backmost to not clear the screen. Otherwise, as each scene gets drawn it completely erases the graphics in the scene behind it. To do this, select the Video Out object in each scene that doesn't appear at the very back. In that Video Out object editor, set the Clear chooser to Off. That's it! Scenes below this one should be able to show through where they are not obscured by elements in this scene. The Video Out object editor is also where you can select a different background color besides the default black. Click on the color chip or use the sliders to select the color. You can also have background scenes show through only partially by having Clear set to On, but by setting an Alpha slider value less than 1. Smaller numbers are more transparent. This is also a good place to point out that you can improve performance by setting Video Out Clear to Off in scenes where you know the various graphics elements will always completely cover the screen. In many cases there is a Video In object, or a full-screen Clip Playback, or a full-page Deko graphic that covers the entire screen, and there is no need to erase the background first. Turning off the Video Out clearing frees up processing time, giving you flexibility to draw more complex graphics. last modified 8/30/2005 back to top send comments © 2005-2007 Serious Intent.
