How do I enter special characters not on the keyboard? If you know the keycode for the character, you can enter it by holding down the Alt key and typing that 4-digit code on the numeric keypad. The English keyboard codes for some commonly used characters are listed below. If you don't know the key code, or the character you want does not have a code in your system's language environment, or you just want to browse all the interesting characters out there, there's a really cool Windows program called "Character Map" that displays all the characters. From the Start Menu, select All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> Character Map. It takes a few seconds to start up, but then displays all the characters present in the font you select (Arial has a particularly complete set). Click on a character square to select it. The keycode for that character, if it has one, is displayed in the lower-right corner of the window. Press the Select button to copy the character into the typein field at the bottom of the window. Press the Copy button to copy the contents of that typein field to the clipboard, from which you can paste the characters into a field in a DekoCast object or parameter editor.
