Why doesn't changing an Action's duration affect its playback rate? Entering a longer Duration gives you room to add more keyframes to extend the Action. You can enter a shorter Duration, but you cannot make the Duration any shorter than the time of the latest keyframe. Dragging the middle of ends of the bars in the Timeline Editor Bars pane is a convenient way to adjust the timing of several frames at once, and you can hold down the Ctrl or Shift keys while selecting a part of a bar to select several bars at once, allowing you to drag them all together. Ctrl adds/removes individual bars to/from the selection, while Shift adds a range of bars to the selection. Right-clicking on the Action Item pane of the Timeline Editor shows a pop-up menu that offers the option to shrink the start and end of an item bar to the actual range of its keyframes, which can be very useful in certain situations. Still there is no simple way to, for example, make an Action play twice as fast. last modified 8/26/2005 back to top send comments © 2005-2007 Serious Intent.
