Where do I find DekoCast product documentation?

Find Documentation Go to the Broadcast Product Support section of the Pinnacle Systems website, www.pinnaclesys.com. The last time I checked, DekoCast documentation in pdf format could be found on that site here.

If you have the documents and Adobe Acrobat Reader loaded on your system, it's a lot easier to consult when you run into a problem.  Useful documents include
  • DekoCast User Guide - the definitive summary of the GUI, procedures, and operations.
  • PostDekoLite User Guide - since all text design and layout happens in PostDekoLite, you might want to know more.
  • DekoCast Release Notes - just what has been added or changed since the last version.
  • DekoCastCentral User Guide - DCC sits between DekoCast and automation systems, and also provides a basic User Interface for live DekoCast control.
  • RocketEngine API - a technical, but very detailed description of all DekoCast object types, their parameters and operation.  If the meaning of certain parameter settings is still unclear after reading the User Guide, you may want to try this.
  • DekoCast Scene Building - tips for several techniques to build powerful graphics that use the full range of DekoCast capabilities.
FYI, RocketEngine is the name of the internal real-time graphics engine at the core of DekoCast and Deko Objex.

API stands for Application Programming Interface.  This is a Windows COM-based library for creating and controlling DekoCast from an external program.

There's also a RocketEingine BCI document.  BCI stands for Bytestream Command Interface.  This is an XML-based command format for controlling and querying DekoCast over an RS-232 serial port or a Network Socket connection.
